Montague Island Marine Debris Project

Do you want to help remove marine debris from Montague Island in Prince William Sound?

Gulf of Alaska Keeper is embarking on a three-year removal project, and we've teamed up with them and the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies to help make it happen. We need your help too! We're seeking volunteers to assist with removal efforts. To find out more and register, please visit:  https://akcoastalstudies.org/montague-project

*Please note that this initiative is separate from our 2025 Volunteer Adventures. The week-long Montague trips will not be for everyone—the remote nature of Montague and the strenuous work involved with marine debris removal pose inherent risk to volunteers.

Registration for members is March 5

Registration for non-members is March 6

We're so excited that you're interested in volunteering with us this summer!

Please note that, like the weather in Prince William Sound, plans may change suddenly. We will always keep you posted. Our multi-day projects are all coordinated with our incredible partners at the Chugach National Forest. While we have the most amazing volunteers on the planet serving on our Board of Directors and in our network (that’s you!), the success of these projects is made possible only through Chugach National Forest’s work and expertise. We support our federal partners and are grateful for all they do to steward public lands and ensure safe and memorable experiences on them.

You must be 18 or older to join a multi-day volunteer adventure.

Our trips fill up quickly. Become a member and get early access for registration and a $25 discount!

Our trips are in demand. Please only register for one trip per person per summer. You are welcome to grab a spot on multiple waitlists.

Is the trip you're interested in fully booked? Please email info@princewilliamsound.org for a spot on the waitlist. We will contact individuals in the order they've registered.
