About The Event

The Chugach National Forest seeks citizen scientists to gather information on site conditions and visitor trends in the Bainbridge area.

  • Volunteers will receive free one-way or roundtrip transport to Bainbridge for up to 2 people/2 kayaks. (Must be 18 years or older to ride on the vessel and must provide proof of a Covid-19 Vaccination record card or results of a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hrs of mission.)
  • Participants will be asked to visit up to 4 sites to record information using an app downloaded onto their phone or tablet. Each site visit takes approximately 1 hour.
  • Kayaks, food and camping gear are not provided
  • A short training will be available on our website or provided in person by the Forest Service in Whittier or Girdwood.
  • A non-refundable registration fee of $50 per person is required to reserve a spot on the vessel.
