About The Event

Hobo Bay offers spectacular views of Port Wells, along with wonderful opportunities to explore surrounding shorelines, uplands, and the nearby historic Granite Mine Trail. This project focuses on restoring popular camping areas in Hobo Bay, removing invasive dandelions, and providing light trail maintenance of Granite Mine Trail. You may also help collect visitor use data for the Forest Service. This is a great entry-level trip for those looking to get involved in PWSSF stewardship projects. Want to bring the whole family? This is an awesome opportunity to bring your kids out to PWS.

  • Roundtrip transportation will be provided by water taxi for volunteers. We invite volunteers of all ages.
  • Food and camping gear are not provided.
  • Tools and instructions for the project are provided.
  • A $125 non-refundable registration fee per person is required to reserve your spot.
  • You are welcome to bring one kayak per person aboard the water taxi. We will be bringing 10 gallons of water for the group; volunteers are encouraged to pack in some of their own water.

Trip difficulty: Easy - walking on gentle slopes, pebbled beach, and grassy areas; less than a quarter mile walk from drop off to camp site; typical gardening movements of bending, squatting, and using hand tools.

Volunteers are welcome to arrive by their own vessel. If doing so, please email info@princewilliamsound.org. This registration includes water taxi transportation.
