About The Event

Up to four volunteers needed to spend a few hours per day pulling invasive dandelions from beaches in Hobo Bay, on the west shore of Port Wells.  

  • Due to COVID-19, the Forest Service cannot provide vessel transport for this project in 2020. Volunteers are welcome to join by water taxi, kayak, or private vessel.
  • Participants will work under volunteer agreement with the Chugach National Forest and be provided all tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Safety training will be provided.
  • Best practices will be followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • To maximize social distancing, priority may be given to families or volunteers living in the same household
  • Food and camping gear are not provided.
  • Participants must be capable of traveling in bear habitat, pulling weeds, and working outdoors in cool, rainy conditions.
