Knight Island Marine Debris Clean-up

Join us for our Knight Island marine debris cleanup. This is a boat-based effort to clean up shorelines along Knight Island. The work group will be camping at the same location each night, and working on-board a Forest Service vessel to access remote beaches.

PWSSF and the Forest Service are collecting data on the volume and types of debris found in PWS. We will be monitoring and collecting data at two beaches during this cleanup, which can take up to 90 minutes per site. We look forward to having assistance with this effort.

• Roundtrip transportation will be provided by Forest Service vessel for volunteers (must be 18 years or older to ride on the vessel).
• Food and camping gear are not provided.
• A $125 non-refundable registration fee per person is required to reserve your spot.

Trip Difficulty: Difficult- Volunteers must be able to walk on rocky beaches, slippery surfaces, and frequently exit/enter a landing craft vessel, while carrying marine trash. Must be willing to work in rainy conditions. Individuals that may find this challenging are encouraged to consider our other volunteer options, or ask us which trip is a good fit for you.

Volunteers are welcome to arrive by their own vessel. If doing so, please email info@princewilliamsound.org. This registration includes transportation by Forest Service vessel.
