About The Event
We are teaming up with the Kenai Watershed Forum and the U.S. Forest Service for a day of invasive species awareness and mitigation in Whittier. Meet us at the Harbor Master's office at 10, and we'll head to Smitty's Cove from there. We'll be picking slugs and learning to identify non-native plant species, including bird vetch, yellow sweetclover, and creeping thistle.
Please bring rubber or gardening gloves. All other supplies will be provided.
All are welcome to celebrate the day's efforts with $1 ice cream cones at Lazy Otter afterwards.
Please contact Maura Schumacher at maura@kenaiwatershed.org for more information.
